Tuesday, May 26: Depart for Amsterdam

Wednesday, May 27: Arrive in Amsterdam and take connecting flight to Gdansk. Afternoon sightseeing of Gdansk’s beautiful old town, one of the most important cities of the Hanseatic League

Thursday, May 28: Visit the European Solidary Center at the Gdansk shipyards, where the downfall of Europe’s communist regimes began in the 1970’s and 1980’s. Take a boat past the harbor and visit the Westerplatte, where World War II began on September 1, 1939.

Friday, May 29: Travel by train to visit the world’s largest brick castle at Marlbork, a UNESCO World Heritage Site located on the banks of the Vistula River.

Saturday, May 30: Visit the Second World War History Museum in Gdansk and take your last stroll through the charming center of town. Late in the afternoon, depart Gdansk by high-speed train for Warsaw.

Sunday, May 31: Explore the painstakingly recreated Old Town of Warsaw, which was completely destroyed in World War II.  Take in a Chopin recital in front of the Chopin statue in the Royal Lazenky Park and close out the day by visiting the Warsaw Rising Museum.

Monday, June 1: Learn about 1000 years of Jewish history in Poland at Polin Museum and wander the streets of the Warsaw Ghetto. Take in views of the city from atop the Palace of Science and Culture, Stalin’s gift to Poland in the 1950’s.

Tuesday, June 2: Journey by train to the small medieval city of Torun, which is famous for gingerbread and for being one of the few towns in Poland that hasn’t been destroyed by wars. Return to Warsaw for overnight.

Wednesday, June 3: Depart for Krakow after breakfast. Stroll across Europe’s largest market square and marvel at the beautiful city center. A visit to Poland’s oldest stained glass workshop and the Rynek Underground round out the day.

Thursday, June 4: Full day excursion to Auschwitz, with time in the late afternoon and evening to process.

Friday, June 5: Enjoy the views from Wawel Castle, home of the Polish royalty before the capital was moved to Warsaw. Explore the Jewish quarter of Kasimierz and cross the river to see the Jewish ghetto and Oskar Schindler Enamel Factory site and museum.

Saturday, June 6: Gain another impression of Poland during this full day excursion to the Tatra Mountains on the border with Slovakia and the resort town of Zakopane.

Sunday, June 7: Depart Krakow for return flights home.
